TRANSFER DINNER

Transfer dinner is held between 4-6 PM during preparation time. This is one last chance for the zone to get together before transfers on Wednesday. Elder Gowans drove to Grovetown and picked up the Sisters to save them miles on their car.

TUESDAY TRIP TO ATLANTA, GEORGIA TO DISTRIBUTION CENTER

WEDNESDAY- TRIP TO COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA FOR TRANSFERS.
Transfers went smoothly as usual. President Holm reminded us that missionaries come developing, not developed. As we serve we are to do His will, His way. Elder Allen, a new arrival, bore his testimony which was very touching. He said he was thankful for the sunshine because he likened it to the Light of Christ.
Sister Brand transferring today. We will miss her she is a great missionary

Sister Roos got her transfer today. We love her and know she will be a great missionary no matter where she serves.

THURSDAY-THANKSGIVING DAY: MARTINEZ, GEORGIA

My sister Patti who was responsible for bring this crew together.

Nothing like a good game of volleyball after dinner.
Our daughter, her husband and their son drove in from Decatur Alabama for the holiday. While we waited their arrival Thursday morning, Elder Berry and I made three visits. We joined our extended family in Martinez, Georgia, about a 15 minute drive from our apartment. My sister's (Nita and Tom serving mission in Canada) children from Memphis, Tennessee were there along with Patti's family (some of her family drove from Atlanta for the day)  and our daughter and family and other family members and friends. There was probably fifty in attendance. We had a wonderful time with our family! Who would ever thought we would have a larger Thanksgiving dinner with family while serving in Augusta, Georgia than if we were home. We loved watching the children play, visiting and just having a good time.

FAMILY TRIP TO EDGEFIELD, SOUTH CAROLINA

 Edgefield town square

Eric and Elder Papa

Edgefield , South Carolina is a small town about a forty five minute drive north of Augusta. The small town is full of history, museums (which were closed for holiday), antebellum homes, shops, and just a fun place to explore. We enjoyed the time we spent there together. There are so many fun places to visit in the south and so much history. We were thankful for time off to spend with our family.

SATURDAY-TEMPLE TRIP TO COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA

Sister Fry, Jana, Sister Hill - We were glad Jana and Phillip could go to the temple with us.
Jana and Phillip made friends with everyone.

Bishop and Sister Lynch. This was her special day

Sister Henri - this was also a special day for her.

The highlight of the week was a trip to the South Carolina temple for three of our ward members. We were able to make the trip along with our daughter and husband and other ward members. The ward was planning to drive the van to the temple but at the last minute it wouldn't crank so we all car- pooled and drove our cars. It was a wonderful day When we left Augusta the sun was shinning but our return trip was by the light of the moon. We are thankful for the Light of Christ that directs us as we do His will, His way. May we all "scatter sunshine everywhere we go" (Hymns 230 Scatter Sunshine)

Love Elder & Sister Berry
